SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR SRM UNIVERSITY SRM JEE 2017

SRMJEE is an exam conducted by SRM University at national level for admitting undergraduate engineering students. The college campus is in 4 places- Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, and Ghaziabad. The exam can be taken either online or offline.
The eligibility criteria to apply for SRMJEE 2017 is as follows:
http://www.entrancezone.com/engineering/srmjeee-2017/

  • For B.E/B.Tech, the students must have 65% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • For B.Tech in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Genetic engineering, and other relevant bio field, the students must have 65% aggregate marks in Maths/Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
The application form for 2017 opens on 15th November, 2016 and last date for receiving the form goes till March 2017. Once the application window closes, booking of slots opens and students are advised to book their slots with proper care. Once this is done, the hall ticket can be downloaded and it should be brought to the exam hall as this is the only document that identifies a student.
The main exam will take place during April 2017 and within one month, the results in the form of rank list will be announced. Based on these ranks, the students can attend the counselling and choose the available college and course.
One important thing to be discussed here is the examination pattern that the students must go through which will help in clearing the test. The pattern consists of:
  • PART 1- 35 questions in PHYSICS
  • PART 2- 35 questions in CHEMISTRY
  • PART 3- 35 questions in MATHEMATICS
  • PART 4- 35 questions in BIOLOGY
Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks and each incorrect response will be deducted 1 mark with the exception for biology where each incorrect answer will be deducted 0.7 marks.
It is not compulsory for all students to attend all parts of the exam. Students can attend the parts as per their interested course.
For example, if a student wishes to pursue B.Tech in Information Technology- he/she needs to attend Parts 1,2, and 3 whereas a student opting for bioinformatics, genetical engineering should attend Parts 1,2, and 4.
